Extension Metadata
About this extension
Casts media URLs, YouTube videos, and live window/screen mirrors (H.264, low latency) from LibreWolf/Firefox to a Chromecast on your LAN.
IMPORTANT: this extension requires the open-source castbridge native daemon (BSD-3-Clause) installed on the same machine; without it the extension shows an actionable 'native host missing' error and does nothing else. Source code and install instructions: https://github.com/gianlucamazza/cast
The content script runs on all http(s) pages because detecting castable media on arbitrary sites is the core feature; it is read-only detection and sends nothing off the device. All communication stays on the local machine (native messaging) and your LAN (Cast protocol). No analytics, no remote servers.
