About this extension
JZ Downloader is a compact, Firefox-first download manager for direct links, provider-backed torrents, and live non-DRM media capture.
It is designed to feel like a lightweight “all downloader” inside Firefox: paste a link, inspect what is available, choose what you want, and send it either to Firefox, to your connected debrid provider, or to Media Sieve’s capture workflow.
Key features:
Torrent support note:
Firefox extensions cannot run a full classic BitTorrent engine in the browser. Without Real-Debrid or TorBox, torrent support is limited to WebTorrent/WebRTC-compatible torrents and web seeds. Most ordinary public torrents are seeded by classic TCP/UDP BitTorrent clients, which browser WebTorrent cannot reliably reach.
For reliable torrent and magnet handling, connect your own Real-Debrid or TorBox account. When a provider is enabled, JZ Downloader can send magnets or torrent files to that provider, check whether the content is already cached, queue supported uncached items, poll provider progress, and return ready download links.
Media Sieve note:
Media Sieve is intended for visible, non-DRM media that the active tab is already allowed to load. It does not bypass DRM, paid access, encryption, or site restrictions. Some streaming sites use protected, signed, fragmented, or expiring media URLs that cannot be converted into a stable direct download.
Privacy and accounts:
JZ Downloader does not include any shared provider account, bundled API key, analytics, advertising, or developer-operated download service. Each user connects their own provider account if they want provider-backed downloads. Provider API keys are stored locally in Firefox extension storage and can be cleared from Settings.
JZ Downloader is open-source friendly, minimal, and built for users who want a practical Firefox download workflow without a heavyweight external application.
