Manga Reminder for AniList by gungunfun
Privacy Policy for Unofficial AniList Manga Reminder
Information stored locally
The extension stores the following information in Firefox extension storage on the user’s device:
Manga reminders and release dates
Chapter numbers
Recurrence schedules
Paused and skipped-release states
Reading or posting links entered by the user
AniList media metadata
Display preferences
Imported AniList list information
Custom cover and banner images uploaded by the user
This locally stored information is not sent to the developer.
The user may remove this information by deleting entries within the extension or uninstalling the extension.
Information transmitted to AniList
Some optional features communicate with AniList’s public GraphQL API.
Depending on the feature used, the extension may transmit:
Manga titles entered into the title-search field
An AniList username entered by the user
AniList media identification numbers
GraphQL queries necessary to retrieve public manga metadata or public list information
This information is transmitted only to provide the feature requested by the user, such as:
Searching for a manga
Fetching a public AniList manga list
Synchronizing cached list information
Refreshing manga titles, covers, banners, statuses, and other metadata
The extension does not transmit an AniList password, authentication token, private message, or other AniList login credential.
Information sent to AniList is handled according to AniList’s own terms and privacy practices.
Data received by the developer
The developer does not operate a server for this extension and does not receive, collect, store, sell, or analyze users’ reminder data, search terms, AniList usernames, media IDs, browsing history, or exported data.
The extension does not include developer-operated analytics, advertising, tracking, or telemetry.
JSON, sync-text, and QR transfers
The extension allows users to export and import their reminder data through:
JSON files
Compressed sync text
QR-code images
Camera-based QR scanning
These operations are performed locally in the browser.
The extension does not automatically upload exported files, sync text, or QR data to the developer or to any remote service.
Users are responsible for how they save, copy, share, or transmit exported data after it has been generated.
QR images may contain reminder information, chapter schedules, manga titles, AniList media IDs, and reading links. Anyone who receives or scans such a QR image may be able to access the information encoded in it.
Camera access
The camera may be used when the user selects the QR-scanning feature.
Camera frames are processed locally in the browser to detect QR codes. The extension does not record, retain, or transmit camera images.
Camera access occurs only after the user initiates the scanning feature and grants permission through Firefox.
Clipboard and downloaded files
When the user selects a copy or export function, the extension may place sync text on the clipboard or create a downloadable file.
Clipboard content and downloaded files are not transmitted to the developer.
External links
The extension may display links to:
AniList
Reading or posting websites entered by the user
Other URLs contained in imported reminder data
Opening an external link causes the destination website to receive information normally sent by the browser, such as the user’s IP address and browser request information. Those websites operate under their own privacy policies.
Data sharing and sale
The developer does not sell, rent, trade, or share user data.
Information is transmitted to AniList only when necessary to perform user-requested AniList features.
Data retention
Reminder data remains in local Firefox extension storage until it is changed or deleted by the user, removed by Firefox, or erased when the extension is uninstalled.
The developer does not retain a separate copy.
AniList may retain information sent to its API according to its own policies and technical practices.
Security
The extension is designed to limit data transmission to the functions described in this policy.
No method of software storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure. Users should avoid placing sensitive or confidential information in titles, reading links, exported files, sync text, or QR codes.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the extension’s data practices or features change.
Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, the extension listing or release notes.
