Moodle Guardian Anticheat by Eduard C

Moodle Guardian Anticheat is a browser extension designed for teachers who want to streamline the review of Moodle assignment submissions.

The extension adds a button to Moodle assignment pages, allowing teachers to download all submissions more quickly and open a local similarity analyzer. Its goal is to help detect textual or structural similarities between student submissions, making it easier to identify cases that may require manual review.

Main features:

• Automates the download of all submissions from Moodle assignments.
• Opens a local similarity analyzer.
• Supports ZIP files downloaded from Moodle.
• Can process nested compressed files such as ZIP, RAR and 7z.
• Extracts text from formats such as PDF, DOCX, ODT, XLSX, ODS, CSV, TSV and code files.
• Shows similarity scores between submissions to help prioritize review.

Runs locally in the browser: submitted files are not uploaded to external servers.
Allows common base files to be added in order to reduce false positives in assignments with shared starter code.

This tool does not prove cheating or plagiarism by itself. The results should be used as support for teaching review and must always be checked manually.
