No AI in Google Search by TedTDH

Automatically prevents AI/Gemini Summaries from generating on Google Search.

About this extension

Simple extension that completely stops google search from making calls to Gemini for AI summaries. Unlike most other extensions which hide the AI summaries with CSS, this extension removes the AI call entirely. The extension does this by adding a search parameter to the end of each of your searches, (in this example, "-dontshowmeanyairesultsgoogle"), which is completely hidden to you and doesn't impede in any way.

Short explanation for people that are interested: The parameter doesn't actually do anything on its own, it just functions as would any old string, but when you add exclusions like this to search, google actually foregoes the AI call entirely. It doesn't really matter what the string is for our use case, it just matters that it doesn't show up on any other websites (or else excluding it would exclude those websites, too, which is why we pick a hyper-specific word to guarantee that doesn't happen). Since we do this, and there's no CSS trickery, the site is perfectly clean and there's no weird edge-cases, either.

Additionally, you can still use the "AI Mode" tab if you'd like, as the extension even retracts its extra characters added to your query when you do so; the extension only eliminates the AI summaries in the normal, home search page, giving you a clean view initially while still allowing you to do whatever you'd like afterwards.
