How Translation Works
When you translate a web page or selected text, the content is sent to third-party translation service providers:
- Google Translate
- Microsoft Translator (Bing)
- Yandex Translate
- DeepL
These services may process your data according to their own privacy policies. We do not control or have access to data processed by these services.
Permissions Used
- <all_urls> / host_permissions: Required to inject translation scripts into web pages you choose to translate.
- storage: Stores your language preferences and settings locally on your device.
- activeTab: Allows the extension to interact with the current tab for translation.
- contextMenus: Adds "Translate page" options to the right-click context menu.
- webRequest: Reads Content-Type headers to detect PDF documents.
All of the above is processed entirely on your device or sent directly to the translation service providers you choose. We do not operate any intermediary servers.
