Popular by Date for YouTube by Thomas
Adds a time-range dropdown (This week/This month/This year/All time) to YouTube's Popular sort, like Reddit's sort menu.

About this extension
Find a channel's best videos from any time period — not just all-time.
YouTube's "Popular" sort on channel pages only shows all-time most-viewed videos. This extension adds a dropdown — just like Reddit's "Top" sort menu — so you can find what's popular this week, this month, or this year.
How it works
On any channel's Videos or Shorts tab, a small caret appears next to the "Popular" sort chip. Click it to choose a time range:
- This week
- This month
- This year
- All time
Picking a range shows that channel's most-viewed videos published in that period, right in place of the normal grid. "All time" just uses YouTube's existing Popular sort — no setup required.
Setup for time-based ranges
"This week / month / year" use the YouTube Data API and require a free API key (Google's free tier covers roughly 100 lookups/day). Add your key on the extension's Options page — full instructions are linked there. "All time" works immediately with no key needed.
Privacy
This extension only stores your YouTube Data API key locally (via Chrome's storage) and uses it to query YouTube's API directly from your browser. It does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data, browsing history, or YouTube account information.
