by Firefox user 17422434, 4 years agoHours gone to waste because of this piece of crap. Instead of closing just duplicates, it closed all tabs that I had 2 or more of open. So for example, I had two copies of a tab. It closed them both. Ctrl-shift-T only goes back so far. I'm going to have to start all the way back at the beginning now. I can't even express my rage at this useless extension. I completely regret I ever got it.

posted 5 days agoIf you are still interested in the extension: the intended behavior of "Close duplicates" is to keep one tab per group and close the rest. For 2 copies of a tab, it should close 1 and keep 1. Closing all copies is not expected behavior.
It is possible this was a bug in the version you were using that has since been fixed, or that the kept tab ended up in a different window if "All windows" scope was active. Either way, losing tabs is a serious problem and the frustration is completely understandable.
If you are willing to try again with the current version and it happens again, please report it at https://github.com/Peuj/duplicate-tabs-closer/issues with details on what you did and which version you were using. That would help track down whether this is still reproducible.
